Every item is printed on demand, in the seconds after an order is placed. This means there is no overproduction, no waste, and no warehouses full of stock waiting to be sold. The printers mix the inks in real time, using only what is needed for each print.<\/p>
Water-based, GOTS <\/strong>and Oeko-Tex Standard 100<\/strong> certified inks are used. This means that the prints can be removed from the product at the end of its use, to retain more of the valuable material, and eliminate the waste and pollution that would be created by other types of dyes.<\/p> The whole supply chain producing our products is SA8000 certified<\/strong>.<\/p> Our products go so far that even labels are made of organic cotton, so it can all go back into the system. Unlike most clothing businesses that use synthetic which would need to be removed to maintain feedstock purity.<\/p> Wastewater from dyehouse effluent is a major source of pollution in the clothing industry. Where our products are dyed, the water is recovered, cleaned and recirculated. After settling and skimming, the water is filtered using reverse osmosis and distillation. This is basically sucking up water through really fine sand over and over, then boiling it. About 95% of the water is recirculated and recovered. <\/strong>At<\/a> the end, the water coming out of the filters and going back round to be reused again is crystal clear, literally clean enough to drink. Once it has been cleaned, it is then used at the input for the next batch.
