What is Remill?<\/h3>

In a circular economy, products are designed from the start to be remade. That means materials flow back to the maker and the new product is made from the old product. It is different from recycling, or up-cycling, where material is turned into something different before it is then thrown away.<\/p>

Remill<\/strong> is a technology and service designed to keep good material in use and flowing. Some people use it as an example of circular economy design in action. Material is recovered and remanufactured into new products.<\/p>

By creating new products from old ones, the loop is closed and waste is designed out.<\/strong><\/p>

Every product we make is designed to be sent back to us once it has been worn out. There is a QR code on every wash care label which leads to our circular fashion page<\/u><\/strong><\/a>. This page contains the instructions to send your products back to be Remilled. New products are then make with the material that is recovered and you will receive store credit per item sent back. The store credit can be used in our store or in stores of other Teemill's partners.<\/p>

Reusing the material you already have, rather than starting from scratch is always less resource intensive. All coloured products are dyed unless they are the natural colour of cotton or \"an off-white\". GOTS<\/strong> and OEKO-TEX standard 100<\/strong> certified dyes are used.<\/p>

Wastewater from dyehouse effluent is a major source of pollution in the clothing industry. Where our fabrics are dyed, the water is recovered, cleaned and recirculated<\/u><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

After settling and skimming the water is filtered using reverse osmosis and distillation. This is basically sucking up water through really fine sand over and over, then boiling it.
